A key to successful therapy is that you are entirely comfortable working with me. Our initial phone consultation  is free which will hopefully answer a lot of your immediate questions.

I am a fully qualified, accredited and experienced Counsellor. My training is at postgraduate level in Integrative Counselling. This means I can bring more flexibility to my work, drawing from a range of therapeutic approaches that best suits your needs.

School Counsellor and Lecturer:

I have been employed both in general and issue-specific roles since qualifying. As well as counselling a broad range of adult issues I have many years of experience working with adolescents and young people. In addition to my private practice, I currently work, part time, as Lead Counsellor in a secondary school setting and have tutored Trainee Counsellors at a local college.

Further information

As a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), I adhere to their policies on ethics and best practice. Before we start to work together we discuss what you wish to achieve and how you would like me to help. I explain about confidentiality and data protection. I undertake supervision in line with BACP guidelines. This ensures that I can continue to work objectively and bring new insight to our sessions. It does not undermine our agreement on confidentiality.

I have a Counselling room in Steyning, West Sussex and work there on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday evenings and Thursday mornings.

The room is at Body Matters which has plenty of easy parking nearby. There are buses from Brighton via Shoreham, Henfield, Storrington and Worthing, which stop close by.

It is up to you what you choose to bring and work with. I can offer help with a wide spectrum of presenting issues which may include depression, anxiety, low self esteem, addiction, bereavement or separation, to name a few. I offer both short term and longer term counselling. The number of sessions depends on your needs and requirements. This can be discussed in more depth when we first meet.

Your time in counselling creates space to make sense of your life and events that may have shaped you and been influential on how you now see yourself. In counselling, we work towards positive changes in our lives. Increasing self esteem, self worth, improving our relationships, becoming happier and feeling more optimistic in general.
